Nevada’s official demographer was able to project population growth in the state using REMI’s model. Nevada State Demographer’s Office released a report on Oct. 1 showing statewide and county-by-county population estimates from 2013 to 2032. The statewide population is expected to grow by 18 percent between this year and 2032, according to the demographer office’s report. The office used REMI’s model to help prepare the population projections for the state and its 17 counties. The demographer’s office is based at the Nevada Small Business Development Center at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business. Local newspapers cited REMI’s role in forecasting future populations in the state and various counties.
