Washington D.C. Monthly Policy Luncheon – November 30, 2011

Washington D.C. Monthly Policy Luncheon

November 30, 2011
The Economic Impact of Changes to Entitlement Programs

It is widely known that entitlement spending currently accounts for over one-third of the federal budget, but few have looked at the economic impact of amendments to these programs. This November 30th, REMI will look at how adjusting the rules of entitlements affects the economy. Beyond assessing the growth to state and federal expenditures based from an aging population, the presentation will include the economic impact of differing proposals to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid using REMI PI+. These proposals include gradually increasing the retirement age, changing the inflation rate formula, capping benefits based on the cost of living adjustment and means testing, and cuts to Medicaid.

The luncheon will be on Wednesday, November 30th, at our DC office, 700 12th Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, D.C. 20005.

Lunch will be provided at no charge although we ask that you register in advance by emailing Leah Jalbert at, calling our office at 413-549-1169, or registering below.
